CASE STUDY: Creekside Development
The Melchiorre Residence in Montecito

The Project:
Design a contemporary single family residence to fit in its natural habitat with minimal disturbance to the natural surroundings.

The Challenge:
Fit the proposed building footprint within the given building envelope as defined by the drip lines of existing native trees and 25 foot riparian setback from the top of creek bank.

The Solution:
Allow the building envelope and setback to establish the building footprint and then search for roof shapes compatible with that shape.  Design a cantilevered concrete deck to project into the riparian setback.
